As the bandits moved closer, the goblin suddenly swishes his hand forth, and a humanoid creature with four arms appears in front of the goblin, tearing the bandits to bloody pieces, aside from one. ![]() ![]() 3.5.3 Spells Known of 1st Level and HigherĪ small, weak-looking goblin is surrounded by bandits, his expression full of fear. ![]() It was the most fun class I've ever played in D&D, beyond my usual love for Paladins and my eternal sadness that Paladins in every edition prior to 5th felt like really awkwardly focused fighter-clerics far and away the best Party Paladin I've brought. ![]() Its Oath spells are incredibly useful, its Channels and Aura are powerful as heck and apply in almost every situation, while featuring a small wind up time to help balance its strength, and its captstone, while not nearly being the most powerful thing ever at 20th, is still a lot of fun to be able to pull without using a bunch of higher level spells to achieve the same effect. Practically, it's an excellent party-helping front line tank, above and beyond the paladin's existing strength. The Oath of the Common Man is a paladin subclass that frees you from a lot of the Cleric's turf, thematically, by turning you into a Paladin, quite literally, of the people it's styled as making you a big old commie, but that's not necessary I played a Pirate Paladin (like, full Barbossa POTC pirate), and it was amazing. I know it's only half relevant, but hear me out, it's so fucking good, and having played it for about two years on and off, I can say it's quite well balanced in a variety of parties and at a breadth of level ranges, and a strong choice to bring to any party. I know you're asking for homebrew classes outright, but honestly the best homebrew thing I've played in a LONG time was a subclass, so if that's alright, I'll just drop it here. ![]()
